I joined the Writers BBS about six years ago. My published credits were a few poems and articles
in regional magazines. Without the help of those good people from all over the world I don't know if I'd ever become a "writer."
The Outer Banks have been my inspiration and the Writers BBS my guide.
October 2004 the two came together for a weekend of writerly talk and deeds. It was fun to share my place of inspiration with
folks who understand.

After eating seafood dinners we sat up late at night talking about
publishers, agents, finding time to write, and all those other writer concerns.

MEEMA AND MOTHER EARTHA ENTERTAINED |
Mother Eartha is a wise old woman who helps Meema (April) tell wonderful
stories. She inspired us and entertained us Friday and Saturday nights. Meema is a multi-talented lady. Photography,
writing, performing, cooking to name a few. And, after all that she takes time to help us at the Writers BBS with
encouragement, advice and co-hosting a forum. Thank you, Meema!
Meema had a book signing at Manteo Booksellers in Manteo, NC, located on historic Roanoke Island. Steve Brumfield
is such a nice man and runs my favorite bookstore in the world.

Dessert Recipes by April S. Fields.
Before the booksigning we visited the Fort Raleigh museum and had lunch
at Big Al's.
There is no better way to greet a new day than by watching the
sun rise on the Outer Banks. Definitely something to write home about.
